A key interest of the AEGN is shining a spotlight on the vital links between effective communication, collaboration and climate change funding. In 2015, we hosted UK climate communications specialist George Marshall who shared his unique insights into the role philanthropists can play when it comes to tackling climate change.
The AEGN’s Sue Matthews spoke to George about a number of issues, discussing the psychology of climate change denial and the importance of finding new ways to talk about climate change, focusing on peer to peer conversations rather than a top down approach that to many can feel politically threatening. They then went on to discuss the role philanthropy can have in effectively communicating climate change science, and how to reframe the public debate to promote climate action.
