Roderick Darling
Director at Caponero Grant

Roderick is a Director of Caponero Grant, a Melbourne-based foundation supporting environmental and community-focused initiatives. He also serves on the boards of Cambridge Australia Scholarships, which fosters academic exchange between Australia and the University of Cambridge, and the Southcoast Foundation, which supports community wellbeing and conservation programs.

Roderick holds an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge, where his dissertation modelled the steel industry’s trajectory against global carbon budgets, exploring the challenges of achieving just development through industrial decarbonisation.

Earlier in his career, Roderick was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, advising global clients in infrastructure, natural resources, and the energy transition. His work included developing strategies for large-scale capital projects, designing decarbonisation pathways for heavy industry, and helping organisations create sustainable long-term value.

With a background spanning commerce and engineering, Roderick brings a multidisciplinary perspective to finance, infrastructure, and sustainability. He has a particular interest in how targeted forest policy reform can both reduce Australia’s emissions and boost national productivity.

Hear from Roderick on the afternoon of conference Day 1 for break-out session 2 'Better Off Standing - Forest Protection for Climate and Biodiversity'

Whoops, looks like something went wrong.
