Fire and biodiversity: State governments' recovery responses

We have the following reports from the New South Wales and Victorian governments and are reaching out to the Queensland, South Australian and Western Australian governments to see if they have similar reports.

We hope that within the month we will invite you to several state government workshops on this topic.

New South Wales Government

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment has released a Wildlife and Conservation Bushfire Recovery — Immediate Response January 2020.

Victorian Government

Several weeks ago, the Victorian Government brought together a group of highly qualified biodiversity experts from academic institutions, government agencies and community groups to consider the impact of the fires on Victoria’s biodiversity and what can be done rapidly and in the future to protect our precious plants and animals. The results were collated in a preliminary report.
