Jim Phillipson

Director of Rendere Environmental Trust

Meet Jim Phillipson, the visionary pioneer behind the Nature Impact Collective, an initiative he will introduce at Thursday’s Better Together session.

Jim has loved the natural world, and loved looking after it since before he can remember. His journey as connector, collaborator, and philanthropist began when he was a kid, kicking around his family farm in Gippsland. Life there taught him that nothing gets done without other people – and instilled in him a deep knowledge of the importance of building partnerships and working together. Reflecting on his formative years, Jim emphasises the value of engaging others in collective action, recognising that impactful change cannot be achieved in isolation.

In 2018, Jim and his wife Heather established the Rendere Environmental Trust, a platform 100% pledged to environmental conservation. Committed to the preservation of our planet, Jim’s steadfast dedication to the Rendere Trust underscores his belief in prioritising people and places that safeguard our natural world, and leverages his wide network and long-lasting strategic partnerships to achieve real and lasting impacts.

His dedication extends to intergenerational equity, and the support of young professionals across the eNGO sector. With co-founder and wife, Heather, they’re architects of a more resilient tomorrow, shaping a better future with enduring impact for generations to come.
