AEGN Corporate

The Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network is Australia’s largest network of philanthropists funding in climate and environment. Since 2008, we have supported funders to give more, and more effectively, to protect nature and secure a safe climate by providing access to experts, peers, tailored resources, funding opportunities and more.

In recent years, our 200+ members have collectively distributed at least $300 million to environmental issues. They have been influential in changing the conversation and policies in Australia around climate and environment.

We are now excited to launch AEGN Corporate — an affiliate offering tailored to the corporate sector and designed to help your corporate foundation maximise impact and ensure best practice in environmental giving.

Benefits

Starting in July 2024, Corporate Foundations are invited to become AEGN Corporate affiliates. Affiliates will join peers that grant in climate and environment to learn from experts and each other, explore areas for collaboration and maximise impact.

As an affiliate, you will receive access to:

  • the AEGN Corporate newsletter — featuring sector and member news and resources as well as funding opportunities;
  • thought leadership events — curated events with experts in climate, environment and/or corporate philanthropy with insights and time for Q&A;
  • AEGN Corporate portal — an affiliate-only section of the AEGN website that includes a curated list of funding opportunities, the AEGN’s Giving Trends report, nature and climate funding frameworks and a climate lens tool; and
  • a dedicated AEGN staff member — available to provide guidance or relevant resources, and introductions to other corporate and non-corporate members where relevant.
Eligibility

AEGN Corporate is open to corporate philanthropy that:

  • are funded by a publicly listed company; or
  • are funded by a privately owned company and is not a de-facto individual or family philanthropy
  • are giving a minimum of $50,000 a year to any cause and are funding the environment or have the intention to do so;
  • agree to abide by the AEGN Corporate Affiliate code of conduct and membership principles, which require corporate affiliates to engage with the AEGN in a way that is in the best interests of the AEGN network and the environment.

All AEGN corporate affiliates are required to pay an annual membership fee.

Affiliate approval is at the discretion of the AEGN board, which must be satisfied that the reputation or behaviour of the foundation or its parent company is such that it would not impact on the ability of the AEGN to do its work and that the parent company is not joining as a greenwashing exercise.
