The AEGN is delighted to welcome Rona Ellis Foundation to our network.
Rona Ellis Foundation is a Sydney-based private philanthropic foundation established in 2007 by Chris Ellis, and now co-led with Sandrina Postorino. Named in honour of Chris’s late mother, the Foundation reflects a long-standing commitment to supporting others, with a giving approach that is values-driven and relationship-based. Its portfolio spans both environmental and social causes, with an emphasis on ocean conservation and animal welfare, alongside continued support for international initiatives in children’s education and poverty alleviation.
Sandrina brings experience in venture capital and corporate strategy, and plays a key role in shaping the Foundation’s environmental focus. She is a longstanding ocean conservation advocate, and is driven by a strong concern for biodiversity loss and environmental degradation, which is reflected in the Foundation’s evolving priorities.
The Foundation typically provides smaller, flexible grants across a diverse range of organisations, enabling it to support a wide mix of initiatives. Sandrina joined the AEGN network in early 2025 and is taking a considered approach to engagement – attending events, building relationships and developing a deeper understanding of the network over time. With a clear interest in connecting with like-minded funders, Rona Ellis Foundation brings a thoughtful and emerging voice to the community, with strong alignment around ocean protection and environmental impact.
